WORKBENCH #07: Report 'The Impact of Multinational Corporations on Development and on International Relations' (1974)
On 2 July 1972 the Economic and Social Council adopted resolution 1721 (LIIl), which requested the Secretary-General to appoint a "group of eminent persons ... to study the role of multinational corporations and their impact on the process of development, especially that of the developing countries, and also their implications for international relations, to formulate conclusions which may possibly he used by Governments in making their sovereign decisions regarding national policy in this respect, and to submit recommendations for appropriate international action".
